Day in the city with Tram!

8AM: woke up/got ready/got on bus towards metro station

~9:50: got out at metro center, walked towards the shops because Tram was running errands. The guards at H&M wouldn’t let us in until exactly 10AM. One of the women waiting outside told him it was 9:59 and he said it wasn’t ten yet. Are you serious?! Anyways I bought a bikini top there and then walked back to the metro because Tram arrived YAYYY I RAN ACROSS THE STREET AND HUGGED HER BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN NEARLY A YEAR SINCE I HAD SEEN THIS GIRL.

We then saw a bunch of trailers so we were like ooh we picked the right stop to get off at because we hadn’t actually checked twitter to see where they were filming today beforehand OTL we could have gotten off in the complete wrong section of the city but we were just a couple blocks away! We ate lunch by the window facing the trailers so we’d see any actors/actresses who could potentially be around but nope saw no one.

~10:30: When we arrived at the Willard Hotel there weren’t many people around and this guy kept making us move farther and farther away and we couldn’t see anything but a bunch of guys in suits looking serious so we decided to take a walk around the Potomac and eat some ice cream. We came back to the filming location and the guy was still making us move away so we stood on some tables with the fans that had gathered during the couple hours we’d been gone. I took some video of a scene they were doing. The set people kept making us leave, so Tram and I gave up and walked to Chinatown to do some shopping.

3:30: decided on a whim to see Gatsby. The movie started at 3:20, but we didn’t miss anything because they just show previews for 15 minutes anyway. I disagree with the negative reviews I’ve read of it—I enjoyed it. It seemed to be trying to hard to look cool and flashy in the beginning scenes but w/e it was good!

~6:00: ATE CHINESE FOOD YEAHHHHH.

7:00: Made one final trip to see if they were still filming anything/if the trailers were still there but nope I saw no sign of anything movie-related. So we got back on the metro and I rode home and read some more Vonnegut. The train also seemed to break down as soon as it got to my stop hehehehheh sorry other people who wanted to ride, it’s out of service.

Also I have a pretty gnarly sunburn, thank you for giving me that lovely ability to burn to crisp as soon as the sun touches me, Irish/Scottish ancestors!! Why couldn’t I get my mom’s skin type………….
